Are you tired of spending your hard-earned money on safe, healthy products only to find out it was all a lie meant to take your money?
Sorry to say, you and millions of others have been hoodwinked into this very thing.
I am going to help you navigate through all these lies, and the plain truth is exactly what it is
I have been there myself many times, and it is maddening! I invest in what I think are safe, healthy products, only to find they're full of chemicals. Well, that doesn’t happen to me anymore, and here is why!
I look for the certifications that matter and the used items that are safe. END of hassle and confusion.
First, if I am looking for organic clothing items, I look for the
-
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) tracks the fiber from the beginning to the end user. From cotton to linen, you can trust it.
GREAT TIP: If it is cotton for babies and children, here is a great tip:
If it is used and has been washed many times, the pesticides have been washed out, and it is safe to use as long as you use a non-toxic laundry detergent. Great buys at consignment shops or hand-me-downs are another great option and will save you a ton of money.
2. GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standards): This certification applies to latex products used in pillows, mattress toppers, and mattresses. It is the best for latex, and it is one you can trust 100%

3. Greenguard Gold is a very important certification. It is commonly used for furniture and mattresses, including baby nursery furniture and mattresses. I love that the testing is done in the USA and is very well respected. I always look for this certification when recommending cribs, nursery furniture, crib mattresses, and children's mattresses. It is my go-to for healthy homes.

4. OEKO-TEX: Another one for every thread, certifying your clothes.
These are the ones I would start with. I will tell you a short story.
When I had my store, a family came in. It was so sad; they had had a house fire, lost everything, even the family dog.
She wanted to buy all latex mattresses for everyone in the house. I gave them a quote, and a few days later she called. Her husband found a better price and bought everyone a new mattress online, but something felt off, so I checked the website. We found out that the outer cover was organic, but the inside of the mattress, the components, were not. They were made with toxic foam that would have certainly off-gassed chemicals. They almost made a huge mistake that would have cost them thousands. A clear example of GREENWASHING! This was a bill for thousands of dollars, and they almost fell for it. Always ask whether the product is 100% certified organic with the certifications above. If not, do not shop there.
I hope this helps you navigate all the greenwashing online.
